The brand identity created for ARTIFACT was meant to reflect the timeless, unique, and anti-obsolecent nature of the small fur handbag brand. The visual identity highlights and honours the brand founder, Lindsey Atwell’s greatest influences through her original imagery. It captures the influences of a life of experience, something that has been carefully currated for years in the making. Her vision is the result of her greatest influences: most recently stemming from her international travel experience. ARTIFACT’s infleucne is derived from all artifacts that have touched Lindsey’s life, but the opportunity to explore larger parts of the world has been pinnacle to ARTIFACT’s launch. Lindsey spent 8 months of living abroad for an exchange opportunity, living in Copenhagen, Denmark, & exploring over 12 countires during her time abroad. Her designs pull from everything that’s resonated with her, the view of Rome’s serine countryside through the window of a train, to an abandoned orange peel on the window sil of a metro station in rainy Copenhagen. Her work embodies the existential experience and influence art, history, and culture has had, that have touched her. Her designs are a conglomeration of the artifacts, dirty dishes, door knobs and flea markets meaning her crafted designs are all uniquely contributed to these experiences.
